Creative Confidence

During my work as a cognitive hypnotherapist over the last 19 years, I have come across many women who have perhaps ‘put their life on hold’ to raise their children or have been working at a career (not necessarily of their choosing) in order to create financial security.

And then they wake up and realise they haven’t yet done that thing they always dreamt of doing, or they wake up and realise the creative project in their heart is waiting to be born. And then in come the blocks!!!

I don’t have the time, I don’t have the money, and I’m not good enough, what if I fail? What if I succeed? etc.

Sometimes it feels safer to stay in the space of ‘I could have done that thing, and it would have been great, but life got in the way’

Working with women on creative projects is a side of my work I absolutely love, it’s like mining for gold. It has been my privilege to see books and scripts written, small businesses started, Paintings completed, music released and much more, often disguised in a general letting go of a ‘life by numbers’ that so many people find themselves living.

Of course I’m not an expert on any of the above, far from it, you are your own expert, what I do is hold the space and help untangle the believes and behaviours that block the creative flow or the courage to take a risk and dare to explore what is in your heart.

If any of the above resonates with you, get in touch for a chat; don’t put it off any longer.

I would like to thank you very much for the sessions and tell you that they were really helpful, I feel that something, somehow, has changed on the way I think… Many thanks for that.

Working With Teens

Anxiety and confidence issues are the main reasons parents bring their teenagers to me. I am often a last resort because the ‘system’ isn’t coping with the high level of young people struggling. Someone once said to me ‘I can only be as happy as my unhappiest child’ it’s true, all we really want is for our children to be happy, and often our response when they are not is to try and fix things for them. It’s an instinct. Anyone who is a parent will probably know the book “we’re going on a bear hunt” the key message being we have to go through stuff in order to build resilience. We can’t do that for our kids; we can hold a good strong space for them while they do though. My approach is to hear them, offer them tools to manage their state and encourage self-love using language patterns that empower both consciously and unconsciously.

I am always happy to talk to any parent with concerns regarding their child, so please get in touch if you feel your teen needs some extra support.

You gave me a great gift, I can still hear your voice inside my head, very soothing and deep, touching into other levels of consciousness that don’t ordinarily get a guide.

Confident Childbirth

The confident childbirth approach to pregnancy and birth is about bringing, you, the expectant mother, back to your own unique experience, utilising all your resources to have the best possible birth experience for you and your baby.

I am passionate about this aspect of my work. I consider it a real privilege to work with women at such a special time for them.

Whether you have fears based on previous experience or stories you have heard. Or, you simply want help in ensuring a confident, calm and joyful experience. Confident childbirth sessions can help.

During Confident Childbirth sessions you will learn:

  • Self Hypnosis - how to go into a state of calm relaxation
  • Personal Visualisations to aid your labour and delivery
  • How to focus constructively in order to manage the birth of your baby in the best way for you
  • How to remain positive and in control

For childbirth, hypnotherapy is recognised by several research studies as a way for women to have shorter labour, less need of medication, less medical intervention (such as forceps, epidural, Caesarean), a more satisfying experience and a baby born in better shape (as measured by the Apgar score). It can also reduce instances of post-natal depression.

I offer one-to-one sessions and recommend a course of 4. Sessions can be taken at anytime throughout your pregnancy.

I know he wouldn’t have been able to make such decisions without your help and so I really wanted to thank you. I feel as if I have got back the positive and motivated son who has been stuck in a bad place for a long time. (He) has talked openly with his mates about you, which I think says it all in terms of recommendation!

Common Issues

My intention is to help you get past the stuff that has stopped you be anything other than the best you. Whether it is anxiety, fear or weight issues you struggle with. Maybe you suffer with a phobia, are caught up in addictive behaviour or are just not where you’d like to be in your life right now.

Anxiety

Anxiety is a state concerned with something that hasn’t happened yet. A certain amount of stress is part of everyday life, however if you find yourself experiencing anxiety or panic attacks then you are out of balance and this can impact on your health. No matter what is going on in your life it is possible to manage your state, therefore becoming more resourceful and having more choice.

Addictions (Distractions)

Addictions are not “who” you are, they are “what” you do. Understanding that an addiction is a pattern of behaviour done well is often a defining moment for those wishing to change. Interrupting that pattern, to bring about more choice for you in your life, is the key to letting go of an addiction. Explore the possibilities.

Phobias

Can often be resolved very quickly. Whatever your phobia, it is your unconscious mind overprotecting you, based on learned behaviour, show your unconscious mind another way and be curious about how different life can be.

Smoking cessation

Smoking means different things to different people, and this is why it is important to explore your personal smoking experience and your reasons for wanting to give up and then we can shape the session accordingly. This makes for a very high success rate. Giving up smoking can be very empowering and consequently can lead to other positive changes in your life.

The whole process was not bad at all and I think a lot of it was down to my feeling calm and in control as a result of the hypno birthing and feeling prepared. Anyway, thank you very much for your help, I found our sessions incredibly helpful and would recommend them to anyone – they enabled my to have my perfect birth experience!
