About Me

I have worked as a Quest Cognitive hypnotherapist for the last 19 years. Seeing clients mainly online means I can help people further afield now. This is so important as many people could use some therapy, however most don’t need much.

I am lucky enough to live by the sea these days. Walking, on the beach or in the local countryside, is my favourite past time as well as pottering in my garden.

As with most people, I have had some ups and downs in my life, some tough and some wonderful. Raising my sons mainly alone from age 4 months and 5 years meant I really had to work on my own mental health along the way, for their wellbeing as well as my own. This has helped me so much as a therapist, giving me the opportunity to pass on what I know, the tools I’ve learnt and the experiences I’ve had to others. Of course I am still work in progress as are we all. The most important thing I’ve learned though, is that it’s not what happens to you in your life that matters, it’s your perception of it.

My training as a Cognitive hypnotherapist was with the renowned trainer and author Trevor Silvester, the founder of the Quest Institute. The Quest course is cutting edge and exceeds the Occupational Standards set for hypnotherapy. However, I appreciate that a great therapist is not made by training alone therefore I am committed to my own personal development, attending talks, workshops and personal therapy, as well as bringing a wealth of wisdom, knowledge and life experience to my work. I believe that everyone reaches the place they are in because of a unique set of circumstances, because of this my approach is to treat the person not the problem. To be fully acknowledged in the moment can allow for great healing, I believe, therefore this is my aim with each and every person I see.

I am a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH), and the Quest Cognitive Hypnotherapy association (QCHPA)
